Get Back into Your Bikini Body With the Help of Juice Bars in Louisville

Awww summer....pools, beaches, vacation..oh yeah and time to slip into that bathing suit. It can be the best of times, and the worst of times. As I shimmy my swimsuit over my slight muffintop, I realize it’s that time. Time to lose a few pounds, and time to get a bit healthier overall.
One way that my husband and I have started to do this is by drinking a smoothie or two a day, or a juice to supplement a meal. The LIFEbar Living Food Cafe has played a big part in helping us to do this. I've been doing this smoothie and juice thing for about 3 weeks and have already had some weight loss and increased energy. And EVEN more swim suit fits quite a bit better.
I was a little intimidated, and even overwhelmed when I first approached the LIFEbar counter with my two kids in tow. I knew I loved green juices from a previous experience one summer on a 3-day juice cleanse. After a few minutes studying the detailed menu my eyes strayed to one of the pure, organic juices; the Keep It Green juice: apple, celery, cucumber, ginger, kale, and parsley for $8.99. The LIFEbar employee, with some of the best dread locks I have seen, asked how I liked my ginger; I looked at him dumbfounded, and he said helpfully, "Do you like ginger quite a bit? Or mild or medium?" On the safe side I chose medium, but chose mild the next time because even for this Siracha-loving girl, it was pretty powerful.
Other smoothies I have tried so far are:
The Hummingbird: You can replace a cup of coffee with this energizing shake because of the energy supporting superfoods maca, cordyceps, and eleuthero, a delicious blend of organic peach, mango, banana, and a sprinkle of cinnamon for $6.99. Now, this one was good. Not the best I have had; the maca, a plant that grows in central Peru in the high plateaus of the Andes mountains, has quite a strong flavor.  It’s partially masked by your choice of honey or agave, but still comes through a little too much for me. I later discovered on WebMD that it has major benefits and is used for all kinds of things from hormone balance to helping with depression. Requesting a touch more of honey would probably be worth it.
Gorilla’s Delight: What they call a "powerful shake" has a smooth blend of organic banana, almond butter, cordyceps, local raw honey, and almond milk for $6.99. This is my favorite so far, and I keep going back to it. It's rich and filling with the help of the almond butter and milk, and the sweet honey and touch of cinnamon reminds me of eating a piece of pie. Really!
Honestly, I did freak out a little when I later found out that cordyceps (which are in both of these smoothies) are a fungus that lives on certain caterpillars in the high mountain regions of China. Supplement makers are able to get enough of the product to sell because cordyceps will reproduce in the laboratory (according to WebMD). Cordyceps, as research suggests, may also improve energy level, physical enhancement, added endurance, and the anti-fatigue effects. And who wouldn't want that right?
LIFEbar can set you up on a program that is right for you. You can also order on line, and they will have it ready for you to pick up, or even deliver right to your office or home, as well. There is also an iPhone app for even more convenience:

They also deliver and can set you up on your very own juice program, or detox juice cleanse.
My husband went to try this place out on his lunch break and said that his smoothie was average in comparison to LIFEbar, but the atmosphere was incredibly hip.
Try this out for yourself and get back into your "bikini body"; whatever that may look like for you.
