Get the Creeps at Waverly Hills Sanatorium Haunted House
Print this page

The Waverly Hills Sanatorium has been called one of the most haunted places in the world. The tuberculosis clinic now has a new life as an internationally known destination with a huge creep factor. This month, it’s the place to be for spook hunters, ghost chasers, thrill seekers and anybody who gets a buzz from a good scare.

The internet (and local legend) is full of people who claim to have seen real spooks at Waverly. Certainly the atmosphere perpetuated by the tour guides and denizens of Waverly is one of real terror. Is Waverly Hills really haunted? That’s a question only you can answer after you make your own visit. You’ll have to keep an eye out for unexplained phenomena among the actors in the Haunted House. As far as the Haunted House goes, here’s what is in store:

The Haunted House runs from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights, through November 2nd. The gates will open at 7:30 p.m. and everyone in line by 1:00 a.m. will go through. (On Halloween night, closing time is midnight.)

Bring: $20 cash, per person, and $5 for parking, with parking proceeds going to Crusade for Children and including a $5 voucher to use on merchandise.

Don’t Bring: Cameras, lights, lighters, weapons, alcohol

The Haunted House actors will not grab or touch you, so if you feel something, well, you better run fast.

About Kachina Shaw

A transplanted Hawkeye, I've now lived in Louisville longer than any other city. Can't live without: my husband and fur babies, coal-black coffee, peanut M&Ms, sunflowers, monthly vacations, books, walking paths, massage and a big purse.
