The title may sound familiar, but don't expect the Disney version of Cinderella when Kentucky Opera performs the classic fairy tale this weekend.
Cinderella will be performed on Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. Both performances are to occur inside the Brown Theatre, located at 315 W. Broadway in downtown Louisville.
Tickets range in price from $30-$91 per person, depending on the seat. Tickets for the three-hour production can be purchased at the Kentucky Center for the Arts box office, the Kentucky Center website, or by calling the box office at 502-584-7777. More information on the show can be found at the Kentucky Opera website.
Cinderella is a well-known story...sorta. Yes, it features the title character who receives help from a Fairy to get to the ball, catches the eye of Prince Charming, and is forced to leave the ball by midnight. However, this Cinderella is not the Disney version. It is an all ages show, but this Cinderella is the classic fairy-tale version, based on the author Charles Perrault's Cendrillon.
Kentucky Opera opened its season with Tosca and will be closing the season with Don Giovanni in February.
