Those in need of health services won't want to miss the West Louisville Community Festival and Health Fair this Saturday, September 18, 2010. Local health professionals will be providing many important and often neglected health screenings at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3640 River Park Drive from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., including cholesterol, asthma, diabetes, and blood pressure screenings, and even HIV testing, podiatry services, prescription drug advising, and education about nutrition, obesity, stroke, heart attack, and routine health maintenance.
Additionally, substance abuse help, dental services, colon cancer screenings, mental illness education, contraception education, and body fat analysis will be available. All of these services are free to the public.
Free glucometers will be available, but supplies are limited.
The Brown Cancer Center will have staff at the health fair to provide clinical breast exams and mammograms either for free or at reduced cost, determined by patient income.
The community festival will feature food, live music, games for kids, voter registration, and more.
The West Louisville Health Fair has it all. If you've been neglecting yourself because you lack health insurance, or if your budget has been holding you back, this Saturday is the day to take charge. Don't miss it!
