A newlywed gets bored and defies convention in the Bellarmine University production of Hedda Gabler, which starts Friday.

Performances of Hedda Gabler will go on Feb. 18, 24, 25, and 26 at 8 p.m. each night.  A matinee performance will go on at 2 p.m. on Feb. 19.  All performances will take place in the Blackbox Theater at Bellarmine's Wyatt Center for the Arts.  The address is 2001 Newburg Road in Louisville.

Tickets for the show are $10 for general admission and $5 for students with ID as well as seniors.  Tickets can be purchased at the Bellarmine University box office on the night of the show.

Reservations can also be made at [email protected].  Keep in mind, the show is for those 18 and over and is cash only.

Laura Early directed the Henrik Ibsen-created Hedda Gabler, which centers on the life of a wife fresh off her boring honeymoon.  Growing more weary of her conventional life and her academic husband, Hedda begins to look for a more interesting life.  That includes manipulating the lives of those around her.

More information on the show can be found at Bellarmine University's theatre program website.
