The heroic and corrupted aspects of a king are exposed in Henry V, which Kentucky Shakespeare will present beginning this weekend.

Henry V will take place each day, except Mondays, from June 26-July 6. Additional shows will be available later in July. All shows will begin at 8 p.m., with a 7:15 p.m. pre-show. The performances will take place in Central Park, located at the corner of 4th and Magnolia Streets in Old Louisville.

This is a free outdoor show, but be sure to bring a lawn chair and bug spray. Food trucks will be available for food and drink purchase.

Amy Attaway directed Henry V, which looks at the title character's rise to the English throne and his eventual war with France. Henry V finds himself trying to escape the image of a troublesome past while also dealing with the pressures and decisions of being a king and wartime leader. Some of his decisions may wind up bringing chaos to the lives of former friends.

More information on the show can be found at the Kentucky Shakespeare website.
