This year’s tour is sponsored by Don Driskell and Catalyst Realty and features seven Old Louisville homes, Central Park Bed & Breakfast, The DuPont Mansion Bed & Breakfast Inn, Inn at the Park Bed & Breakfast, and The Carrigan House - Dismas Charities. The beautiful 1895 Conrad-Caldwell House on St. James Court will be featured as a star attraction where Christmas and Hanukah shoppers will find great holiday gift ideas in the basement gift shop.
Advance discount tickets are on sale now through November 30th. Tour tickets are $20 in advance, $25 the day of tour and can be purchased at the Old Louisville Visitor Center, online or by calling 502.635.5244.
During the tour, TWIGS of Kosair Children's Hospital will host a high Victorian Tea at Inn at the Park. The Tea will feature English teas and a tasteful sampling of savories and sweets reminiscent of holiday teas in the 19th century. The food will be prepared by David Dominé, The Bluegrass Peasant, and served by members of TWIGS #7. Entertainment will be provided by harpist, Nancy Stagner. Price: $15.00. All proceeds go to Kosair Children's Hospital. A special silent auction to benefit the Old Louisville Information Center in Central Park will feature gingerbread houses created by the culinary students from The Bakery at Sullivan University. Victorian Tea tickets are available in advance and may also be purchased during the tour at the Conrad Caldwell House Museum or at the Inn at the Park.
The 2008 Floral Designer Showcase Competition theme is “Sleigh Bells”. Each of our participating homes has been assigned a volunteer floral designer to decorate the home’s entryway using sleigh bells in the design. The competition is judged by a panel of five volunteer judges one evening in late November. Winners will have exterior Competition Award signs displayed in the front yard.
