After last week's coup of signing stud Cuban lefty Ardolis Chapman to a 6-year deal, we're all pretty enthused for spring to arrive in Cincinnati. It may be a little early to talk about baseball. After all, we're still staring down the Superbowl and the LOST season premiere. But the Reds are smart and they know that their REAL fans care 12 months out of the year so they bring the winter caravan to town every year to visit the Louisville Slugger Museum and Bat Factory This year's caravan is January 28 from 5:30pm-8pm. Here's the scoop from the Bats press office: The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature Reds Broadcaster Thom Brennaman, Reds Chief Operating Officer Phil Castellini, President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Walt Jocketty, Reds 1990 World Series team member and Dayton Dragons Manager Todd Benzinger, Reds outfielder Jay Bruce, 2009 Southern League All-Star and Reds’ No. 1 hitting prospect according to Baseball America, Todd Frazier, Reds mascot Mr. Redlegs and Bats mascot Buddy Bat. They'll have season ticket packages available for both the Reds and Bats, who have their first home game on April 15 (which seems like a million years from now). C'mon fans! 2010 is the year of the Red!
