House of Bernarda Alba will go on Sept. 29, 30, Oct. 1, 6, and 9 at 7:30 p.m. each night.  Matinees will occur on Oct. 1 and 8 at 2:30 p.m. each day.  All performances are to take place at the Shelby County Community Theatre, located at 801 Main Street in Shelbyville, KY.

Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $10 for students, and $10 for seniors.  Reservations can be made by calling 502-638-2559.  More information on the show can be found at the Looking for Lilith website.

House of Bernarda Alba involves issues of marriage rights, self-censorship, and traditional values.  During the Spanish Civil War, a mother has lost her second husband, which leads to a period of mourning for the household.  The mother also exercises total control over her daughters, including in who they can see.

Kathi E.B. Ellis directed the production, which Federico Garcia Lorca created and Emily Mann adapted.  The cast includes Stephanie Adams, Shannon Woolley Allison, Natalie Fields, Trina Fischer, Carolyn Lowery, Karissa Singleton, Dawn Schulz, Karole Spangler, and Carolyn Wilson.

House of Bernarda Alba is the first of three shows this season for Looking for Lilith.  The rest of the company's season can be found in this article.
