How to Win Free Tickets to Kentucky Derby 2014
Print this page

If you are into contests and games, check out these chances to win free tickets to the 2014 Kentucky Derby. Time is growing short, so you'll need to move quickly, but the payoff could be huge.

Purchase a 2014 Golden Raffle Ticket from the Louisville Sports Commission by the deadline of 5:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, and cross your fingers. The tickets are $100 each, but a maximum of 350 will be sold. Not only will the winner receive two tickets to the 2014 Kentucky Derby, but they'll also get tickets to the 2014 Kentucky Oaks, U of L or UK basketball, U of L women's basketball, the Louisville Bats season, and several other major sporting events. It's a huge prize. If you're interested, get on it right away.

The Today Show is holding a Kentucky Derby Hat contest. It runs through April 24, and the winner will receive a trip for two to Louisville, accommodations, two tickets to the Oaks, and two tickets to the Derby (including food and non-alcoholic drinks for the event). The value of the whole prize is estimated at $5,500. To enter, submit photos of you and your homemade Derby hat, and a statement about the hat. The contest description has much more detail on what you'll provide. Entries will be judged on creativity and originality, so think big. Remember, this is a huge, nationwide contest and the winner will no doubt receive lots of airtime, so bring it home for Louisville.

Horse trainer and owner of Lexington's Magdalena Farm, Kenny McPeek, is running a contest for primo seats at the 2014 Kentucky Oaks and 2014 Kentucky Derby. To enter, download the Horse Races NOW app for iPhone or Android. Then you can enter once per day, by sharing news about the contest, until April 28. The seats will give an experience similar to that of the top owners and trainers, says McPeek. That's not something most of us can buy -- a spot right in front of the finish line.

Good luck!
