If you’ve never tried backpacking or you’ve tried it and want to improve your knowledge, this class is for you! It covers how to select, fit and pack a backpack; food/stoves and cooking; clothing and layering systems; boot/socks and how to prevent and treat blisters; tents and sleeping bags and how to be comfortable sleeping on the ground; safety, hygiene and how to answer nature’s call without facilities; Leave No Trace (outdoor etiquette); where to backpack; conditioning; and much more. You’ll have the option to participate in a weekend backpacking trip following the course (fee extra). So join us and experience the wild, one step at a time.
