IU fans envious of Postseason, to the point of parody

Combining two crazes occupying every trend and pop culture reference currently, Indiana University fan, Amber Murphy, writes a parody of Frozen’s “Let it Go” telling Hoosiers to let go of their basketball dreams for this season.

“I love the rivalry,” Murphy explains.  And why not have some fun with the rivalry marking UK, IU and U of L? “A parody just felt like a fun way to support my friends and basketball-frenemies,” said Murphy.

Although IU scored an appearance at the regional semifinal in last year’s NCAA tournament, the Indiana Hoosiers have been absent from the March Madness this year.  Their 2014 season ended with three consecutive losses prompting all IU fans to let go of their postseason hopes.

Though Murphy spent most of her life as a Kentuckian, she has always fervently cheered for Indiana basketball. But she never had any ill will toward Louisville or their fans. In the parody, she sings, “I hope your team moved on. Mine didn’t stand a chance anyways.”

“I have to admit, I'm completely envious this post-season. Another Cards/ Cats match-up in March, and I just watch from the sidelines in my sad IU candy-striped pants,” said Murphy.

Watching from the sidelines with her significant other, who is a fanatic Louisville fan, Murphy said, “To be honest, I am starting to believe that ‘Tom Crean can't even coach,’ to quote my own lyric. I know I need to #LetItGo.”
