Where To Go

JCC is Junior Camp Central next month
Print this page

Have you checked out the events at Jewish Community Center (JCC)? They had a Summer Camp open house yesterday, where parents could grab loads of information about their popular summer camps and swimming sessions, but if you missed it, check out the information and download the PDF here

But before summer comes spring, and Spring Break is literally just around the corner. Hopefully the weather can make a fast turnaround and deliver warmer days, greener grass, and beautiful daffodils and tulips soon! JCC Spring Camp runs April 2-5 from 9:00 am-5:00 pm (with extended care options) for ages 20 months- 5th grade at 3600 Dutchmans Lane.

The theme this year is "Going on a Picnic," where campers will enjoy every aspect of springtime picnicking. On Tuesday, April 2, kids will learn about ants and enjoy a LEGO project from Bricks 4 Kidz. Campers will learn all about dirt on Wednesday, and kids ages K-5th grade will take a field trip to the Louisville Nature Center. On Thursday, the theme will be recycling (and all week, JCC will be collecting used cell phones to be recycled/reused). On Friday, April 5, campers will bring items from home to ensure the perfect Springtime picnic.

Campers will enjoy crafting, sports, and age-appropriate activities, and K-5 campers will swim each day (don't forget a towel and swimsuit!). The website provides very detailed information, and a registration form is available at jewishlouisville.org/springcamp. For more information, call 502-238-2708.

About Anna Frye

After living in Chicago, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Colorado, my husband and I made our (hopefully? probably?) final move back to Louisville, where I was born and raised. Ahhh...it's nice to be home. Now I'm busy making sure my three little ones learn to love the quirks and traditions of their new hometown: Kentucky Derby Festival, no school on Oaks Day, grits and hot browns (not necessarily together), monograms, parks, festivals, and even our seasonal allergies.
