Tonight the Jewish Community Center’s Center Stage will begin its run of The Full Monty, the Broadway musical adaptation of the 1997 movie. In this Americanized version of the Best Picture nominated British Film, the story follows six blue-collar workers who get laid off from their comfortable factory job. Trying to regain the self-respect and confidence lost in their emasculating unemployment, they decide to form a troupe of male strippers that will entertain more than the touring company of Chippendales, because their troupe will have the, er, nerve, to go “the full monty.”
Under the artistic direction of John Leffert, who really gave a good show with Center Stage’s last production, The Full Monty will most probably expose the audience to a great night at the theater.
The Full Monty will run at the Jewish Community Center, 3600 Dutchmans Lane, for most days between May 10th-20th, at 7:30pm. On Sunday May 13th and the 20th, there will be two shows at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased at the Center Stage box office number, 502-459-0660 ext. 0.
