July Filson Bourbon Academy Evnets
While you can’t enjoy The Filson Bourbon Academy whenever you want, they do have a packed schedule this summer. They are taking their bourbon knowledge on the road as ambassadors and educators of bourbon culture and history.

July 12, the full Filson Bourbon Academy experience will be available for the good folks of Ann Arbor Michigan to experience. Whether you’re just starting out with your love of bourbon or you’re a seasoned pro, this day-long class is sure to entertain you.

July 26, a more in-depth version of the Filson Bourbon Academy will be conducted at Belles Cocktail House in Lexington. This is a follow-up session from the June Filson Bourbon Academy held at the same place. It seems as though Lexington bourbon lovers are more demanding of these classes than we are here in Louisville. Let’s do something about that, Citizen Bourbon Ambassadors.

There will be two opportunities to catch the Filson Bourbon Academy crew in action in Louisville during July. First off, July 10 will be the second of the three part Bourbon Salon at Oxmoor Farm series. This session will cover craft and experimental bourbon products. It’s a pretty controversial topic in the bourbon world, so it is sure to be a lively evening. Tickets are $50 per person and are extremely limited, so be sure to call the Filson to get your name on the list soon.

The second chance to catch the Filson crew in action will be the chef’s whim dinner and historical lecture at Porcini on Frankfort Ave. The $75 ticket cost covers a three course meal, bourbon tasting, and a lecture about bourbon history.

Any chance you have to learn bourbon from Mike Veach and the Filson Bourbon Academy crew is going to be a good one. There’s a lot of history that has led us to the current popularity bourbon is experiencing, and learning it definitely enhances your enjoyment of our native spirit.
