Announced yesterday, the Kentucky Derby Festival Inc has launched a new application for AT&T customers for use with their Apple iPhones. According to the release, the application, which works on the iPhone 2G, 3GS and the iPad, allows users to find times, dates and locations for Derby Festival events. It was developed by Louisville-based CurrentMarketing Inc., using the Socialight Community Platform.

If you’re looking to download the application to your iPhone, just go to itunes and enter the search term “Kentucky Derby Festival”. It is a free download and users can also post notes and images about the various events and connect with other app users.
The two-week long festival celebration kicks off this weekend with Thunder Over Louisville leading up to the running of the 136th Kentucky Derby.
