Special Homefront tops off KY Film & Music Fest at Clifton Center
Kentucky Homefront this Saturday is part of the Kentucky Film and Music Fest at the Clifton Center. Details of the fest follow show line-up information. This is a unique opportunity to see the Owensboro concert performers. Come be part of that--and stay for our own local "legends" perform together! Film for the first portion (90 minutes): The Legends Concert -- ROMP 2007. This is from the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro. They always open their festival with the "Legends Concert" which showcases the talents of 1st and early 2nd generation musicians. Artists performing in the film: Mike Seeger Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver The Dismembered Tennesseans Berline-Crary-Hickman Live Show (2nd portion at approximately 9:30 pm: The Stephen Couch Duo Regional All Star Bluegrass Band (Steve Cooley, Jeff Guernsey, Michael Cleveland, Nathan Livers, Larry Raley) --------------------- LIVE at the Clifton Center in cooperation with Kentucky Homefront & Derby City Film Festival presents Kentucky Film and Music Fest Saturday, November 14 11am-5pm and 7:30-10pm Festival is an all-ages family friendly celebration of the very best in Kentucky music and film, and several workshops that will be geared towards children and music beginners. FILMS: "Being Lincoln: Men with Hats" Written & directed by Elvis Wilson "Dreadful Memories: The Life of Sarah Ogan Gunning" Written & directed by Mimi Pickering (KY Arts Council Al Smith Fellowship Artist) "Land (and how it gets that way)" Directed by Walter Brock "Into the Way of Peace" Directed by Dewayne Rudd "Rock that Uke" Directed by William Preston Robertson and Sean Anderson (KY Arts Council Al Smith Fellowship Artist) "The Legends Concert - ROMP 2007" Directed by Joe Gray MUSIC BY: The Abe Lincoln Effect Amazon Pilot Lotus Blake Kentucky Homefront - John Gage welcomes the Stephen Couch Duo and the Regional Bluegrass All Stars WORKSHOPS: Harmonica Clinic with Richard Matteson of Mom's Music Guitar Clinic with Karsten Nelson of Mom's Music Hand Percussion Workshops with Jyn Yates of Mom's Music "Basic Budget Basement Studio" with Gustavo Renovalez "Carbon Nation" Film Preview with Chrisna Van Zyl Byck HIGHLIGHTS OF THE FESTIVAL: Louisville film producer, Chrisna Van Zyl, previewing scenes from the upcoming documentary "Carbon Nation", Gustavo Renovalez, the music director for a Louisville nonprofit media creation organization, sharing tips on setting up a "Basic Budget Basement Recording Studio". The evening will conclude with a showing of "ROMP 2007 - The Legends Concert", followed by a Kentucky Homefront concert featuring the Stephen Couch duoand the Regional Bluegrass All Stars. John Gage will host the concert, which will be taped and aired on public radio stations across the region. Tickets: $5 per film, $15 - Day Event Pass (All Films & Workshops from 11am - 5:30pm), $12 - Evening Pass (doors open at 7 pm & Porch Pal tickets will be honored). $25 for a Full Event Pass Tickets are available online at Family discounts are available.
