Registration is open for the Bellarmine University Hitting Academy for young baseball players 7 to 13.  Conducted by the Bellarmine baseball team head coach Deron Spink, assistant coaches Josh Thomas and Shane Gordon, and Knights players, the clinic will run from Sept. 26 to Oct. 24 on consecutive Sunday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The five-week course, which features a low student-to-coach ratio, will progress from the basics of the physical swing to the mental approach to hitting.

The clinic will be conducted at Bellarmine University’s Knights Field (or indoors at Bellarmine’s Sports, Recreation and Fitness Center in the event of rain). Helmets will be provided, but students must bring their own bat, batting gloves and turf/running shoes.

Space is limited to ensure personalized instruction, and the cost of the academy is $150. For more information, e-mail Coach Spink at dspink@bellarmine.edu.
