The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft (KMAC) has recently acquired a large assortment of rare, regional folk art and they will host an exclusive sale of these works on Thursday, August 27 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. The sale is being held in celebration of the revival of The Kentucky Folk Art Society, which was reestablished in honor of Marvin Finn, one of Kentucky’s most noted folk artists. The evening will include a cash bar, the opportunity to meet other Kentucky folk art enthusiasts, and the chance to be one of the first to see over 500 pieces of original artwork. For more information, call (502) 589-0102 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
As ambassadors of Kentucky’s storied folk art heritage, Kentucky Folk Art Society members will have the chance to bring folk art to the public’s attention through local and regional engagement with scholars, artists, and collectors. Members will also have the opportunity to attend lectures, films and participate in guided tours of collections. Kentucky Folk Art Society memberships are available for $20 annually for KMAC members of all levels.
