Friday and Saturday, Korrect Optical held their annual eyewear trunk show at their newly remodeled dispensary located on the corner of Dutchmans Lane and Dupont Circle. Collections featured this year included frames by Vera Wang and Penguin, who were shown on Friday, while pieces from Brooks Brothers and Coach concluded the two-day event Saturday. Behind the store, refreshments were provided by Ladyfingers Fine Catering & Banquet Services on 12901 Old Henry Business Park, ranging from cheese and crackers to pulled pork and spinach dip, as well as bite-sized desserts and drinks.
If the trunk show’s offerings weren’t enough – with several options from which to choose from each collection presented – frames from luxury marques such as Bulgari, Chanel, Prada and Tom Ford were also available for consideration by those in attendance.
Johnnie Selby, retail manager of the Dutchmans Lane dispensary, talked briefly about the success of the trunk show, as well as more about the grand re-opening of his store:
“We had a grand [re-]opening celebration Thursday, which was very, very successful, and we just continued on with the trunk show through the weekend. We were actually in a temporary space for approximately three months while this one was getting totally remodeled from the ground up.”
Regarding the cost to remodel the store, Selby noted that he didn’t know, as the project – and thus, its budget – was handled through Korrect Optical’s owners.
The newly remodeled Korrect Optical dispensary is located on 4036 Dutchmans Lane, across from Norton Suburban Hospital. Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information on their offerings, call 502-895-2020, or visit their site at www.korrect.com.
