Vampires are so
in right now. They're young and sexy – they sparkle in the sunlight – they'reso
dreamy... Ugh. (Here's a tip: watch the filmLittle Ashes
for a fun little scene in which Robert Pattinson, a.k.a. Edward, gets, um, mounted. Not such a dreamboat now, is he, ladies? Perhaps for many men, though – there are some quite steamy love scenes in this film.)
Speaking of the conjunction of vampires and homosexuality, it just so happens that the first installment in the LGBT Film Series at the University of Louisville Floyd Theater happens tonight – just two days before Halloween!
The main attraction isBite Marks
, in which Windham Beacham and David Alanson star as Cary and Vogel, respectively, a couple on a hitchhiking trip. They are picked up by truck driver Brewster (Benjamin Lutz) who is transporting a shipment of coffins. When the truck breaks down in a deserted junkyard, night soon falls, and the hungry inhabitants of the coffins are revealed...
Also on the bill is the short filmIn Twilight's Shadow
, starring Natasha Alam as Carlisle, a woman struggling with her choice of immortality. Unable to embrace the darkness inherent with such a change, she rides the line between light and dark – until her mortal lover is threatened. If she is to save her lover, she must first face the truth inside herself...
It all starts at 7:00 tonight (Monday). The Floyd Theater is located on the third floor of the Student Activities Center on the University of Louisville campus (look for the clock tower). Admission is $3.00 for students and $5.00 for the general public. Further information can be found at the event's Facebook page.
