LOOK, a consortium of fine art galleries in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Louisville area, will host the first annual “LOOK at Louisville Art Party” on Thursday, October 18, from 6:00pm-9:00pm, at the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center. The event will feature the debut of the 2007/2008 LOOK Gallery Guide, a sale of quality art at minimum prices, door prizes, live music by Seth Freeman and teenage musical trio Nora, Ben, & Eli, appetizers by Jarfi’s Bistro, samples by Havana Beverages, and a cash bar. A special sculpture that was inspired by LOOK and created by self-taught, award-winning metal sculptor Ben Bridwell will also be unveiled that evening. The event is free and open to the public. All proceeds from art sales will benefit LOOK.

The 2007/2008 LOOK Gallery Guide, designed by 21 Skye Design, will make its debut at the event. It includes detailed information and images from all 42 LOOK members, as well as ads from 70 supporters, in over 65 colorful pages. The Guide will serve as a valuable reference for the visual arts venues in Louisville, and it will be available to all event attendees. After the event, the Gallery Guide can be found in various restaurants, hotels, the Greater Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau's information rack, advertiser's locations, as well as all participating LOOK art galleries.

“We’re excited to launch the new guide and celebrate the vibrant art scene we are so fortunate to have here in Louisville,” says LOOK President Scooter Davidson. “We hope that this event and this year’s guide will encourage people to see, experience and own art.”

Musical trio Nora, Ben, & Eli will perform from 6:00-7:30pm. The group features teenaged multi-instrumentalists Nora Grossman (14), Ben Scruton (15), and Eli Kleinsmith (15) playing an exciting and eclectic mix including jazz, Irish and Appalachian folk, old time music, and some original tunes. Their own unique arrangements incorporate a variety of instruments including fiddle, guitars, banjo, accordion, percussion, ukulele, and tinwhistle, as well as vocals.

Seth Freeman will provide additional entertainment for the evening with a performance from 7:30-9:00pm. Seth was born in West Virginia and heir to an old-time music tradition. Combining esotericism and literature with a rock'n'roll attitude, he has written songs on a wide range of topics, including revolutionary politics and tragic traveler love songs.
