Ever since the cold weather rolled in, I've been a little stir-crazy sitting around the house watching my son trying to eat the dog's tail.  And unfortunately, the month of January never seems to be abound with  activities for children. This is why I was ecstatic when I found out about all of the offerings that the Louisville Free Public Library has for kids this month.

One of my personal favorites is the story hour. There is no charge and occurs at several of their branches multiple times a day. Come in and cozy up with your little one and listen to one of the many fantastic story tellers read a book. The story hours are each geared towards specific age groups, so be sure to check out the website for more information regarding branches and times.

Does cold weather make you fancy a fairy tale?  The Crescent Hill Library Branch is currently holding a Fairy Tale Reading Contest.  Read a fairy tale and enter your child in a contest for a chance to win a $5 gift certificate to Carmichael's book store! Children 11 and under are eligible and the contest will take place throughout the month of January.
