The (7) Cards grabbed another win on Saturday in a one-sided contest that had many analysts asking about a mercy rule, as Louisville defeated Florida International 72-0. The game saw four touchdown passes for Cardinal quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and the team’s defense held FIU to a school record of 30 yards. Coincidentally the team has been attempting to garner votes for Bridgewater for the Davey O’Brien Award, which is meant to honor the best quarterback in college football; the voting is open to the public online.

In any case for the Cards as a whole, this means as Louisville goes into their bye week this week their record currently stands at 4-0.

The Cards will suit up at Temple, October 5th for their fifth match-up of the season. Temple will mark the Cards conference opener in the American Athletic Conference (AAC). This will be the one and only season that Louisville will be a part of this conference, as starting next season the team will move to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

In the meantime however, a plethora of analysts have predicted Louisville as the favorite going into the season and conference play.

Meanwhile, Kentucky is heading out of their bye week following a loss to Louisville, on the 14th. The Cats will commence their SEC battles at Commonwealth Saturday at 7, when they meet (20) Florida. In addition, to the Gators Kentucky will also meet a handful of other current top 20 contenders this season including (12) South Carolina, (1) Alabama, and (9) Georgia.

Meanwhile the Bobby Petrino led Western Kentucky is currently 2-2, as they look towards their Saturday battle with Navy, at noon. They have claimed victories against both Kentucky and Morgan State, while suffered losses to Tennessee and South Alabama.
