It’s been a year of over-achieving and surpassing even the loftiest of goals set by the management team for this Louisville Lightning soccer team. This Saturday night, April 10th, at Mockingbird Valley Soccer Club, they hope to finish their inaugural season as champions of this year’s Professional Arena Soccer League as they host the title game.
Winners of the Eastern Division, the Lightning will take on the champions of the Western Division, the San Diego Sockers, at 7:30 pm. It will be no small task for the home team as the Sockers have won the indoor title 11 times in their storied history.
This season has been a remarkable one for the Lightning as they finished up the year 11-5. Head coach Scott Budnick was named Coach of the Year for the league and the team added 4 players to the honorees named “All-League”. Winning the championship is the last step for this first-year team, as success has now become not only the norm but the foundation for the future.
Tickets are $10 in advance or at the door, as this championship game is almost assured to be a sell-out. Tickets can be purchased at Mockingbird Valley Soccer Club or online through www.louisvillelightning.com
Come out and support the city’s most successful team for 2010!
