Louisville Magazine is proud to announce that we have been selected as one of the top five city and regional magazines in the nation in two categories of the prestigious 2014 National City and Regional Magazine Awards (CRMA).
In the General Excellence (under-30,000-circulation) category, which honors the magazines considered the best in overall content and design among city and regional magazines in the U.S., Louisville Magazine is up against Austin Monthly, Madison Magazine, Martha’s Vineyard Magazine and Memphis Magazine.
Louisville Magazine is also a finalist in the Civic Journalism category for its March 2013 package of stories focusing on the economic and social struggles facing west Louisville. The other finalists for this award are Atlanta Magazine for a story that examined the plight of a neighborhood surrounding the very profitable Braves baseball stadium; Boston Magazine for an investigation into the Boston Redevelopment Authority; and The Washingtonian for features on the rationing of nutrients provided to premature babies and on lethal chemicals buried by the Army Corps of Engineers in a D.C. area neighborhood nearly 100 years ago.
Magazine professionals from around the country chose 150 finalists from 34 publications. The winners, all for work completed in 2013, will be announced at the CRMA’s 38th annual conference, which will be held May 17-19 in Washington, D.C.
