Help us provide police officers with stuffed animals to comfort children during traumatic events.
Louisville Metro Youth Detention Services will host a stuffed animal drive from August 1-31 to benefit Kosair Charities’ “Bears on Patrol” Program. Individuals wishing to donate to the drive, may drop off any new or gently used stuffed animals to the center at 720 West Jefferson Street. The drop off box is located in the front lobby and is accessible 24 hours daily. For general information regarding the drive, please contact Louisville Metro Youth Detention Services at 574-6177.
About Bears on Patrol
Bears on Patrol is a cooperative effort between Kosair Charities and local law enforcement agencies to provide patrol cars with teddy bears and other stuffed animals. These stuffed animals and bears are used by officers throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana to comfort young children exposed to traumatic situations. These “loving friends” comfort children when their world is compromised and help put smiles back on their face.
