  • "The economy dominated an often contentious gubernatorial debate hosted last night by Kentucky Educational Television. It was the second time all three candidates appeared together in a forum. Incumbent Democrat Steve Beshear has declined to attend several other debates.   • "The father-in-law of Republican gubernatorial candidate David Williams has contributed $1.5 million more to a political committee that is paying for most of the broadcast advertising advocating Williams’ election. Terry Stephens, a Russell Springs businessman, gave $1.5 million on Oct. 14 to Restoring America Inc., bringing to nearly $4 million the amount he has given to outside groups supporting Williams this fall."
