Louisville news: I've watched Metro Council meetings on teevee too, can I be mayor? edition [News]

"A recent poll from CNN and Time Magazine says Kentucky’s U.S. Senate race is tied, with Democrat Jack Conway and Republican Rand Paul each holding 46% of the vote." [WFPL]
"The two major-party mayoral candidates turned on each other Wednesday. The Louisville Forum hosted an hour-long debate between Republican Hal Heiner and Democrat Greg Fischer, with members of the non-partisan group asking a range of questions from library funding to bridge building. But the toughest questions came from the Heiner and Fischer, when they were each allowed to ask two questions of the other. Heiner, a member of the Louisville Metro Council, told the audience that Fischer was unable to answer a question about the size of the city’s budget during a forum before the primary election. Then he said: 'You have yet to attend a metro council meeting. How does that lack of involvement prepare you to be mayor?' Fischer said he watches the metro council meetings. 'I can watch you guys on TV,' Fischer said. 'I’ve got a lot going on, man. I’m running for mayor.'" [Courier-Journal]
"Local farmer and fresh-food activist Ivor Chodkowski and two partners have signed a lease at a building on East Market Street for a new restaurant called Harvest, which would serve regionally grown food. It’s expected to open in the spring. The building is at 624 E. Market, the site of the old Mayan Gypsy restaurant." [Courier-Journal]
