  • "Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels and Mayor Greg Fischer just made an announcement that they plan to explore “cost cutting’ options for the Ohio River Bridges Nightmare, saving more than $500 million." [The Ville Voice]
  • "Mayor Greg Fischer named two top staff advisers Tuesday: an interim economic-development chief and a director of policy. Margaret Handmaker, 62, will serve as the interim economic development director for six months while Fischer conducts a national search for a permanent replacement for Bruce Traughber, the longtime economic-development director under former Mayor Jerry Abramson, who is taking a development job at the University of Louisville. Handmaker, a recently retired top executive with Mercer Inc., will be paid the equivalent of $113,000 a year. [Tony] Peyton, 40, will earn $97,000 a year as a director of policy and will responsible for implementing pledges Fischer made during his mayoral campaign.
