  • "A Franklin Circuit Judge issued a rare restraining order Monday to stop a group from airing attack ads against Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear after finding that the organization violated Kentucky’s campaign finance laws. The Kentucky Democratic Party asked for the order against Restoring America, a third-party campaign committee, after the group failed to properly disclose its donors in a report to the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance in recent days." • "Occupy Louisville demonstrators can now stay in Jefferson Square Park overnight until the end of the year, according to a copy of the permit acquired by WFPL. Occupy Louisville continues to be a presence in the region. Around 100 demonstrators marched north on Bardstown Road on Saturday. The demonstration mirrors Occupy Wall Street in New York City in standing against corporate greed and the influence of money in politics." [WFPL]
  • "The fears of some people that making the sale of firecrackers, bottle rockets and other fireworks legal in Kentucky for the first time this year would lead to more injuries and fires did not materialize. 'Surprisingly, in spite of the increase in the sale of fireworks, we saw that injuries and fire-related incidents held steady and were compatible to what they were in years before. We didn’t know that that would be the case but we would gladly take that,' Kentucky Fire Marshal William Swope recently told a legislative panel." [WFPL]
  • " It'll be the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series and, of course, they'll need special bats to play. The folks at the Louisville Slugger factory are busy making the championship series commemorative bats and the bats that the players will use on the field." [WAVE3]
