  • "USA: 1; Mitch McConnell: 0...[Ratification of the START Treaty] is a victory for common sense in the conduct of foreign affairs and a defeat for the 'Never give a win to Obama no matter what' stance adopted by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. Hats off to the Republican senators who put the nation's interest above the partisan recklessness of the GOP leadership.[National Catholic Reporter]
  • "State Representative Rick Nelson has pre-filed legislation that would require…someone to disclose (upon request) the names of people who post anonymously online. I say '…someone' because it’s unclear in the legislation who that would be. The bill would 'require providers of these services [sites, blogs, message boards] to conspicuously identify the parties who post entries; require providers of these services to disclose, upon request, the names, addresses, and e-mail addresses of parties posting entries.'" [WFPL] Not sure why Rep. Nelson wants to hurt small businesses—like this one—with extra costs to implement such a system.
  • "Greg Fischer, Louisville's mayor-elect, took a turn as a 'bell ringer' for the Salvation Army yesterday at the Highlands Kroger. The event lasted all of 30 minutes and was set to coincide with the noon news programs on a traditionally slow news day. It appeared to be less of an attempt to help out than it was a chance to get on television." [The Valley Report]
