To encourage local families to visit their municipally-owned golf courses, Louisville Metro Parks is offering an affordable family golfing package at its nine golf courses during Labor Day weekend.
For only $20, a family of up to four members can play nine holes at any Metro Parks course. The $20 includes greens and cart fees, and families can take advantage of the deal after 4 p.m. on three days: Saturday, September 1; Sunday, September 2 and Monday, September 3.
Families should call in advance to book a tee time at the golf course of their choice.
“This is one of our most popular promotions at our golf courses,” said Metro Parks Director Mike Heitz. “Bringing the family together to enjoy the game of golf is a great way to celebrate Labor Day weekend.”
Metro Parks golf courses are open from daylight to dark seven days a week, and each course has a fully stocked pro shop. Private lessons are available from a PGA Professional at each clubhouse. Metro Parks has also unveiled an online library of golf tips, located at http://www.louisvilleky.gov/MetroParks/golf/golftips.htm. The tips come courtesy of the Inside Kentucky Golf television program and Metro Parks’ PGA professionals.
Metro Parks operates 9-hole golf courses in Cherokee Park and Crescent Hill Park, along with Waverly Park’s Bobby Nichols Golf Course. There are 18-hole courses in Iroquois Park, Long Run Park, Seneca Park, Shawnee Park, Sun Valley Park and Charlie Vettiner Park.
