Louisville Orchestra Fanfara Festival String Quartet
Expect the Unexpected
Louisville, KY (September 2, 2008)… The Louisville Orchestra is so excited about the opening of the 2008-09 Season they are all over town making noise about it. The Louisville Orchestra musicians will be scattered all over Louisville to bring the Fanfara Festival to all areas of our community, ending in the Fanfara grand gala concert!
From September 4 until the Fanfara concert on Saturday, September 13, the Louisville Orchestra will perform over 20 Fanfara Festival activities throughout the community including special concerts for sponsor employees, music for schools and a plethora of free public events including the possibility of a soloist in your neighborhood bank or park!
Director of education and community engagements, Deborah Moore, says, “We are extremely excited about the feature event of the Fanfara Festival at the Barnes & Noble at the Summit on Friday, September 12. The fun will start at 5:30 with the Reed String Quartet and some delectable munchies provided by the bookseller. At 7pm, Louisville Orchestra musicians will join Maestro Mester in a discussion of music selections for the Fanfara concert. This will be the only opportunity for Fanfara patrons to hear about the program prior to the concert on the 13th.”
