Taste of Independence State Liquors 3786 Lexington Road July 3, 5 p.m. Dumante is sponsoring this tasting of cocktails, chocolates and other Dumante-inspired goodies (no word if those goodies include weight gain and a hangover). (Via Consuming Louisville.) Old Man Before the 4th Derby City Espresso 331 E. Market St. July 3, 9:30 p.m. Local band Old Man will play a set of its R.E.M.-style rock at Louisville's best venue for great coffee, beer and art. Outdoor Skills - Archery Jefferson Memorial Forest 11311 Mitchell Hill Road, 40118 July 4, 9 a.m. Shoot stuff with a subtly and skill not normally associated with the Fourth of the July at the this activity, which will teach people ages 8 and older how to safely shoot a bow and arrow. All equipment is provided and the program is for people of all physical abilities The cost is $6 an archer. Indie Day 2009 ear X-tacy 1534 Bardstown Road July 4, 12 p.m. Support the independence of Louisville merchants at this gathering of local businesses.
