Forecastle Festival July 10-12 Riverfront Belvedere Sixty-five musical acts and 20,000 fans are expected to hit the Riverfront Belvedere this weekend for the eighth annual Forecastle Festival. Widespread Panic, The Black Crows, The Black Keys and The Avett Brothers headline the three-day mix of music, art and activism. Here's a rundown of some of the articles from Louisville.com's special section on the event: Tickets are $40 per day or $100 for the entire festival. Lebowski Fest July 10-11 Various locations The eighth annual Lebowski Fest celebrates all things from the Coen brother's The Big Lebowski" this Friday and Saturday (while Walter doesn't role on Shabbos, apparently hipsters have no problem partying on it). Advance tickets are $15 for the movie party featuring "The Daily Show's" Rob Riggle and Black Diamond Heavies and $25 for the bowling party (which also includes costume, trivia and other contests), with prices $5 more on the day of the show. Louisville Blues-N-Barbecue Festival July 10-12 Water Tower Live blues, dead barbecue and entertainment for the kiddies are the highlights of this three-day festival. Tickets are $6 before 6 p.m. and $9 afterward, but always free for kids 10 years old and younger. The music starts at 5:30 p.m. Friday, 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Old Louisville Hidden Treasures Garden Tour July 11-12 Old Louisville According to Bruce Springsteen, She's got a secret garden Where everything you want Where everything you need Will always stay A million miles away Well, this weekend those secret gardens are accessible, at least if they are in Old Louisville. This two-day festival opens the private green spaces of the United States's largest Victorian residential neighborhood to the public. And while you may be let into the secret gardens, you'll have to "pay the price": $10 in advance, $15 the day of the tour. Jane Austen Festival Historic Locust Grove July 18-19 Sorry for the copy and paste about this event from the Historic Locust Group Web site, but I couldn't even begin to describe it in my own words. "The Festival includes the Regency Emporium, a Silent Auction, and the fabulous Regency Style Show. New this year, a Period Sewing Techniques class by historic re-enactor Kathleen Kannik (pre-registration required). Afternoon Tea served each day on the hour (pre-registration required). Featured author is Margaret Sullivan, editrix of AustenBlog and author of "The Jane Austen Handbook: A Sensible Yet Elegant Guide to Her World." Common Stock will provide authentic entertainment both days such as Old English Fairy tales portrayed by shadow puppets, rare shows and more." Tickets for a tour of Locust Grove are $6 and afternoon tea (reservation required, wise4@insightbb..com or 502-727-3917) is $25. For more information: Jam bands and blues not your kind of music?
