Your weekend plans are not set in stone, come on they’re really not. So, at mine and a few thousand other people's suggestion, you had better get out! The Trews at Uncle Slayton’s will be a purely unadulterated rock n’ roll show you cannot miss. Uncle Slayton’s provides a comfortable and inviting stage for The Trews to throw it down for what will be a kick ass show. The Trews are in Louisville winding down their nearly yearlong tour in support of their fourth full length offering, “Hope and Ruin” released earlier this year. The Trews will have three shows at Slayton’s, 11/19 with Po’ Brothers and Nick Peay, 12/3 with The Tunesmiths and Justin Lewis, and 12/10 with Po’ Brothers with Corey Brumback and Stacey Lynn King.
The love of music is so prevalent in Louisville that we all scramble to see who’s playing where. It is incredible when a band with such caliber comes to Louisville and welcomes guests with pure lyrics and smooth sound; a resounding truth lies within The Trews’ music. The Trews make it a point to make a point with both their music and the accompanying videos. The success see from these gents is vast, especially in Canada and the US.
Originally from Canada, The Trews began playing together in high school and never stopped. Colin MacDonald (vocals, rhythm guitar), John-Angus MacDonald (lead guitar, brother to Colin), Sean Dalton (drums, cousin to Colin and John-Angus), and Jack Syperek (bassist, longtime friend of Colin and John-Angus). You could say this band is a family affair. An interview with the band is forthcoming and is sure to please. Tickets are available now and are $8 in advance/$10 day of show. Doors open at 8:30 and the show begins at 9pm. This is an 18+ show-so bring your ID!
