There is a quiet buzz circulating the music scene here in Louisville, and it’s a slowly swelling buzz among musicians and fans alike.  It’s this pecking question that’s been tapping at our brains since we heard news of a new music venue coming to town, and here we are, just over a month from opening night – when everything will be revealed.

On April 4th, The Mercury Ballroom will throw their doors open and we will get to see what they’ve been working on, and what they’ll have to offer our bustling music community here in Louisville.  In their first two weeks alone they have Corey Smith, Here Come the Mummies, Booker T. Jones, The Toadies, and Aaron Lewis, just to name a few.

To celebrate their grand opening, the folks over at the Mercury Ballroom launched a contest this afternoon, in conjunction with the launch of their Facebook fan page.  The winner of the contest will win two tickets to EVERY show that comes to Mercury Ballroom in the 2014 calendar year.  If you’re interested in being the lucky concert goer all you have to do is check out their page at the link below for all the details.

About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
