It is time to stop pussyfooting around and call it like it is. Mitch McConnell and his fellow GOP leaders have become domestic terrorists plain and simple.
True political leaders make the case to the public that they should be in power because they know how to make life better for the people. Domestic terrorists and mafia thugs make the case to the public that they will make life worse for the people unless they are in power.
This is true the world over. The Taliban in Afghanistan has used domestic terrorism for years to prove to towns and villages that the consequences for not supporting them will be blood, blood, and more blood. The Irish Republican Army made the case to the Northern Irish for decades that the only way to get them to stop slaughtering innocents would be to put them in charge.
And so it is here in the United States as well. Starting with Rick Perry's statement that doing anything to reduce unemployment before the election would be treasonous, Republicans have been making the case that the people shall be punished until they vote for Republicans. And now, with their letter to Chairman of the Federal Reserve Ben Bernanke implying future threats to the Federal Reserve itself if it takes any steps to lower unemployment between now and next November, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, and Eric Cantor have fully signed on.
So lets stop with the pretending that this protection racket is actually legitimate policing and call it what it is. The Republican leadership, with Senator McConnell at the helm, is a bunch of mafia thugs and their tactics have become those of domestic terrorists. Sorry, but it is what it is.

Leftist lament
Wow! The lefties were able to convince a majority of the voters to elect a total incompetent, and now that his administration has failed on all fronts, they are left with nothing but a pitiful complaint that the loyal opposition is a bunch of terrorists, set on destroying the very fabric of our democracy. The Democrats have pretty much destroyed the national economy, and all the neo-Marxian class struggle rhetoric in the world will not convince the voters to give Obama a second chance. He's toast, and you know it.

Without even attempting, at this point, to educate you on the facts of President Obama's success since his inauguration, even in spite of such blather from a competely uninformed view--please...I would just like a simple answer to one question:
If we were standing, facing one another in a bar, sharing a beer, could you in all honesty look me in the eye and tell me that you do truly, honestly, and completely believe what you just wrote? I would really like to know.

This is the single most impressive example of deliberately confusing cause and effect that I think I have ever seen, and highlights the Conservative reliance on the use of logical fallacies for rhetorical advantage over actual, useful, meaningful, policy debate.
The willingness to win by rhetorical tricks rather than actual, sound, reasonable, rational policy discussion should be enough on its own to scare the daylights out of any voter.
Relevance?
How's this for relevant: this Marxist adminstration has implemented a plan to model that which has failed so spectacularly throughout the world in the 20th Century that only the most ignorant or corrupt would even consider it. Even today European socialist "democracies" are collapsing like dominoes and begging for "bailouts" from the remaining few with money. Yet here we are - again. There is no policy debate of any substance possible, because the facts are so clear: Collectivism has been and will continue to be an utter failure, sold to the weak by tyrants as a method for fleecing them blind.

Euro economys are all doing better than ours and have been for a while. their standard of living is higher, education, health, oh and the LOVE their nationalized healthcare and great public transportation too.

Socialist democracies
Ironically, Germany is among the most socialist democracies in Europe AND the one that is going to be DOING the bailouts, not needing them.
Loyal Opposition? Not for this President.
Also, the idea of a loyal opposition has long since been wrung out of the Republican Party. That isn't even a concept that can play with today's tea party base. There isn't a characteristic of "loyal opposition" anywhere in the Republican DNA at this point.
The very statement that Obama is a complete incompetent denies the existence of a loyal opposition. There is no inclination to compromise, there is little acceptance even of his legitimacy, and there is a complete willingness to permanently and grievously damage the nation itself and do actual harm to its people in order to win in 2012. There is no more loyalty to it than there would be if the party actually deployed the militias it keeps at the ready.

Refutation
Combined with the earlier comment, yes. It is. The refutation is that the facts Thomas listed all correlate with Obama's presidency but he hasn't even tried to make a case that Obama's presidency caused any of them, or even that Obama's presidency caused any of them to be worse than they could have been.
A hurricane happened a couple of weeks ago too. The fact that it happened while Obama was president doesn't mean that he made it happen. A case could be made, if someone wanted to make it, that his government's response was somehow screwed up, but that is exactly the case that Thomas has opted not to make. Instead he has simply said a hurricane happened, therefor Obama shouldn't be president.
Interesting Analysis
We have talked about the Republicans, and the Tea Party. I have used the term "Tea Party Terrorists" since the day Vice President Biden didn't say it. He should have, because it is the truth.
Not only is this a thug-mob mentality, but it is also in direct opposition to democracy itself. This is not a political issue, and any discussion about their "plan" is nothing more than a purposeful distraction from their real agenda, and their vey real goal: the elimination of the Middle Class was only one important obstacle removed. The goal for these traitorous thugs is the complete elimination of democracy itself, and they have publicly stated their case for doing so.
This is a national emergency of the first order, and as citizens we have no options but to wake up, stand up, and fight back against their plan to create a corporatist, plutocratic theocracy in America by November, 2012. This is their goal, their dream, and their stated intent. That they would have, so long ago, co-opted a son of our Commonwealth to do so, happily, is a great shame to our beloved State. Yet, here we are.
The question is: "What are YOU going to do about it?", and it is the obligatory responsibility of every citizen of every community, and state, to answer this question honestly, and finally. Democracy is asking for the protection her citizens accept when accepting their role in the American Dream. How shall we answer? What will YOU say? Have our heroes lived, and died in vain? Is it, as we hear without ceasing, time for THIS change? They intend to force it upon it.
I intend they shall not do it easily, or without the legitimate and legal resistance at the ballot box in November, 2012 or, preferably sooner if possible. I call upon my brothers and sisters, my colleagues and friends in Kentucky, Tennessee, and all American states, territories and interests to stand up! Fight back! NOW.
I ask it. We need it. Democracy itself demands it.

I would challenge you to post examples of Tea Party thuggery. Would you like to compare them with examples of Leftist thuggery in support of Democrat policy? Union-backed beatings, Panther voter intimidation, all the way down to shout-downs, blocking of entrances to meetings, etc. Dem thuggery is always on display. Please show us examples of the same from the Tea Party.
Have you even read the Tea Party's platform? It is nothing more, nor less, than liberty. No libertarian is capable of thuggery, because libertarians do not want to force anyone to do anything. Individual liberty and the dismantling of statism is their goal.
Your entire rant would be flawless, were you only to replace "Republican" and "Tea Party" with "Collectivist." I am familiar with the rhetorical tactic of taking one's own weaknesses and ascribing it to the opposition. You sound just like the creationists who call those who support scientific research "fundamentalists." It would be comical were it not so sad.
