People seem interested in the re-opening of Kentucky Kingdom, according to the web stats from Louisville.com. People are flocking to Google to find out more about the newest attraction in Louisville. It will be sure to have all the thrills, spills, and chills that thrill-seekers seek. It boasts 20 brand new in 2014 attractions and rides: 54 to be exact. Here’s the scoop on information pertaining to the opening of Kentucky Kingdom which is set for Memorial Day weekend, just about a month away. According to the countdown on the website, that is 30 days and 50 something minutes from now.
Opening Day: Saturday, May 24, 2014
Hours of Operation: On the website, there is a calendar option indicating their hours by a color coded scheme. Green=Summer Hours, Blue=State Fair Hours, Orange=Fall Hours. The hours are as follows for the summer season which runs May 24-August 13: Kentucky Kingdom is open daily Sunday-Thursday 11am-7pm, Friday and Saturday 11am-9pm. Hurricane Bay is open Sunday-Thursday 11am-6pm, Friday and Saturday 11am-7pm.
Season Pass: Cost is $99.95, but for a limited time you can purchase a season pass for $69.95-($30 off!) at your local Kroger store. Gets you free admission to the park all season long, free admission to the park during the Kentucky State Fair, and $1.00 32 ounce soft drinks all season long + 20% discounts on park food and merchandise.
Admission Rates: General admission for a day ticket for adults is $44.95, children under 48 inches $34.95, senior citizens 55 and older $34.95, military discount with valid I.D. $34.95. Children ages 3 and older require a ticket. Children under the age of 2 are admitted free of charge.
Height Restrictions: 48 inches

The FAQ section of the website also answers a lot of questions. Old favorites are still there, including Thunder Run, Mile High Falls, Raging Rapids River Ride, and The Giant Wheel.

What is new at Kentucky Kingdom: The pulsing, pounding Lightning Roller Coaster, which is a steel coaster with a 100 foot almost entirely vertical drop. A new “Sea Lion Splash” show featuring rescued sea lions in an educational show for families and park-goers, King Louie’s Playland featuring 11 children’s rides (3 brand new), and numerous shows and events are also on the docket.
What’s new at Hurricane Bay: The new 12 story Deep Water dive: a very wet and wild ride that Hurricane Bay nabbed as the nation’s tallest body slide. The Water Park is double the size it was before. There are 8 new rides and the new Hurricane Bay Beach Club with more beach chairs, lounging areas, private cabanas to rent, and free tubes and sunscreen will be offered to guests.
