This isn't your typical Kentuckiana obsession with horses.  IUS will continue its theatre season with Equus, which opens tomorrow night.

Equus performances will go on Feb. 25, 26, Mar. 4, and 5 at 8 p.m. each night.  Matinee shows will occur Feb. 27 and Mar. 6 at 2:3o p.m. each day. All performances will take place in the Robinson Theater at IUS's Ogle Center.  The address is 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany, IN.

Tickets for the show are $12 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, and $6 for students.  Tickets can be purchased at the Ogle Center box office or through Ticketmaster.  Keep in mind the show contains mature themes, language, nudity, and adult subject matter.  Therefore, those under 18 must have an adult with them.  More information can be found at the IUS theatre department website.

In Equus, Alan Strang has developed an obsession of dangerous proportions with horses and has also become violent.  Martin Dysart, a psychiatrist, attempts to figure out the cause of Strang's condition but also finds himself falling more into Alan's life, questioning his own sanity in the process.

Peter Shaffer created Equus as a way to understand how passion has been destructive to one's passion.  Jim Hesselman directed the production, which features Drew Cash as Alan and J.R. Stuart as Martin Dysart.
