Print this page

The local film scene continues to thrive, and now there is an opportunity for you (yes, you!) to potentially be a part of it. David Brewer, who I had the pleasure of interviewing about his debut film “Nothing in the Flowers” has an upcoming project and is looking for actors and extras. Open auditions take place this Sunday, March 11:

Square8 Productions is seeking actors and extras for an upcoming film to be shot in and around the Louisville area over the next 3 months. Looking for all types, M/F 18 yrs and older. We will be casting many extras in addition to some speaking and a few significant roles however, no previous acting experience is necessary.

Auditions to be held at the Alley Theater in Louisville Sunday March 11th, from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. Headshots and resume/portfolio would be a plus.

We are also specifically looking for an assortment of folks with an "underground" look. Examples; but  not limited to:
Tattoos, piercings, biker, punk, metal, rave, frat boy, muscular/hot bodies, thugs, strippers, alternative, suicide/bad girls, freaks, Fight Club wannabes, etc. If this is you or can be you, come on down.

Audition participants should expect to do reads as well as some test shots.

If you are interested but are unable to attend, you will need to submit a headshot and short bio/resume to: [email protected] to be considered. This is not a paying gig, but will be well worth your time.

The above is lifted from the audition event page on Facebook where prospective participants should go to indicate intended involvement in the project or to ask further questions of the filmmakers. The Alley Theater is located at 1205 East Washington Street.

About Allan Day

There are legitimate theories that the Big Bang originated from the collapse of a black hole in a fourth-dimensional universe. This stuff fascinates me, and I love reading about it. I love reading about science. And about anything, for that matter, provided it's interesting - and everything is potentially interesting, so I'm fascinated by a lot of things. I also read a lot of fiction (Kurt Vonnegut deserves deification) and watch a lot of movies (Charlie Chaplin also deserves deification). I've made a few short films myself. I'm also a writer of everything - I'm close to a Bachelor's in English at IUS. My life consists of reading, writing, bartending, and taking care of my daughter full-time. Life is busy and life is stressful, but that's why there's music and art and other forms of relaxation.
