Little Colonel Playhouse will serve up some Southern Hospitality with a Guilty Conscience and people wanting to be in pictures during its 2013-14 theatre season.
During the season, Little Colonel Playhouse will present five shows: Southern Hospitality (October), The Nightingales (December), Guilty Conscience (Feb. 2014), I Ought to Be in Pictures (April 2014), and Kitchen Witches (June 2014). All shows are to happen at Little Colonel Playhouse, located at 302 Mt. Mercy Drive in Pewee Valley, KY.
Season tickets will soon be available. Check the Little Colonel Playhouse website for information when it is announced.
Little Colonel opens the season with Southern Hospitality, about an almost-deserted town that hilariously attempts to put on a fair in order to impress new businesses. Auditions for the show are Aug. 18 and 19, and the production takes place Oct. 3-13.
During the holidays, The Nightingales will come together. The Nightingales are a performance family, full of funny tales of life on the road and drama in real life. When the parents come to visit, everything is thrown further into chaos. This production runs Dec. 5-15.
The theatre opens the new year with Guilty Conscience. As an attorney contemplates killing his wife (and acts out each scenario in his mind), his wife and another person are trying to do the same to him. The thriller occurs Feb. 13-23.
Neil Simon's work I Ought to Be in Pictures follows. Herb, a struggling scriptwriter, decides to take a chance on fatherhood again after his daughter unexpectedly comes back into his life. Look for the production from April 3-13.
Finally, Little Colonel Playhouse will close the season with Kitchen Witches. Rival cable access cooking show hosts wind up on the same TV show, sparking a barrage of insults and plenty of suffering for the man caught in the middle of their bickering. Kitchen Witches goes on June 12-22.
