Weddings, coming out, and Rocky Horror are all part of Pandora Productions's 2011-2012 season, which gets underway next month.

During the upcoming season, Pandora will present seven main stage and season extra productions: A Man of No Importance (September), The Rocky Horror Show (October), Gays in Toyland (December), The Temperamentals (March 2012), Bare (May 2012), and My Big Gay Italian Wedding (June 2012).  Pandora will also present a New Play Project at several points during the year.

Season subscriptions are now on sale for $75 per person.  They can be purchased at the Pandora Productions website.

Pandora will open its new season with A Man of No Importance. The production features a simple man who asks his church theatre group to perform a provocative Oscar Wilde play instead of their traditional one.  Church leaders, however, are unnerved by the amount of supposed immodest dancing in it.

A Man of No Importance will run Sept. 8-18 at the Victor Jory Theatre inside Actors Theatre.  Stephen Flaherty created the music, Lynn Ahrens created the lyrics, and Terrence McNally created the book for the production.

A musical with cult classic importance, The Rocky Horror Show, will follow.  This annual Pandora production brings forth a typical, middle-class couple who wind up in a night they'll never forget in the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter.  Don't forget about the famous music, including Dammit Janet, Sweet Transvestite, and The Time Warp, among other classics.

The Rocky Horror Show will occur at The Connection Theatre from Oct 27-30.  Richard O'Brien created book, music, and lyrics for the show.

Around Christmas time it will be time for toys a la Gays in Toyland.  In this original Pandora work, a toymaker has taken in rejected toys who sing, dance, and generally live a happy life.  That is, until the toyshop is vandalized and their way of living is threatened.  Gays in Toyland will run at Victor Jory Theatre at Actors Theatre from Dec. 1-11.

Beginning the new year for Pandora is gay political history saga The Temperamentals.  Lovers Harry Hay and Rudi Gernreich attempt to form a society during the 1950s which seeks freedom for people who felt the same as them about freedom.  The Temperamentals, a Jon Marans work, will run at the MeX Theatre at the Kentucky Center for the ARts from March 22-April 1.

In May, Pandora will expose the production Bare, which deals with a closeted relationship at a Catholic boarding school.  As the couple struggles with whether or not to come out, another student at the school threatens to expose them anyway.  Bare will take place at Actors Theatre from May 10-20.  Jon Hartmere, Jr, and Damon Intrabartolo created the production.

Finally, Pandora will finish its 2011-2012 season with a wedding,

My Big Gay Italian Wedding.  In this production, there are fighting relatives, an ex-boyfriend seeking revenge, an insane wedding coordinator, Italian-style festivities, and, oh yes, there's also a wedding.  My Big Gay italian Wedding will take place in Victor Jory Theatre at Actors Theatre from June 14-24.  Anthony Wilkinson created the production.
