Revelry Boutique-Gallery will host its next art opening for their youngest artist, Cami Burruss with her collection of mixed media pieces Project 365 on Friday, July 20, 2012 starting at 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Following Revelry’s motto of “Accessible Art,” the gallery seeks to create an avenue for emerging and established artists to connect with viewers and collectors of all budgets and tastes. “With this exhibit, we are pleased to offer the opportunity to share with the public the work of such a young and dazzling artist” said Paula Weyler, owner of Revelry Boutique-Gallery.
Burruss graduated in May 2012, and spent her final year at Sacred Heart Academy of Louisville documenting her daily life in a poignant series of photographs, supported by poems, lyrics, and descriptors to create a rich story. These vibrant images capture the life of young America today. Selected images from the 365 have been printed on a variety of surfaces and mounted with artistic objects to create multi-dimensional works.
“A lot can happen in a year, and many new people can be brought into your life in just a matter of moments; some who change the way you look at the world itself. So at the end of each year do you remember all that you did and all these people who altered you? Did you live each day, or just survive? It is these questions that influenced me to begin my “Project 365,” in which I took a photograph each day that documented the most significant moment” said Burruss.
Awarded the Presidential Scholarship for Art, Burruss will be leaving in the fall to attend Wake Forest University, where she plans to major in pre-med and minor in art.
Refreshments & live musical entertainment will be served. This event is free and open to the public. The exhibit will run through August 24, 2012.
