One of the great axioms of style is that less is more. Less make-up means less time getting ready in the morning, and that means more time sleeping or attending to more important matters. For a fresh, easy look, Chic Geek visited Jessica Hill at Chanel to get the low down on the 5 Minute Face for a girl on the go.
Jessica started by applying Chanel’s Perfection Lumière, a flawless liquid foundation that evens out and protects the skin with built-in SPF.
Next was Soleil Tan de Chanel, a bronzing powder that we used both as a blush and as an all over contour. Keeping in mind the idea of framing the face, Jessica advises to apply close to the hairline and then blend inwards. This keeps the powder from getting blotchy as it could if you start near your cheeks.
Then, we put just a little color on the lids with Chanel Ombre Essentielle Eyeshadow in 93 Complice. Jessica started at the base of the lid and then brushed the shadow upwards. This concentrates the color towards the lash line, which is where it’s most effective, as well as preventing excess shadow from getting brushed towards the bridge of your nose.
Next, Mascara. Mascara opens up the eye and brightens up the face, so you can always forgo eyeliner for mascara’s sake. You want to apply a few coats and make sure that the mascara coats each lash. For a maximum impact, zig zag the wand back and forth to get those difficult baby lashes.
Lastly, the lips. Use a neutral gloss or lipstick to finish off your look.. For maximum wearability use a lipstick or gloss that hydrates like Rouge Coco Shine in 54 Boy.
Now armed with insider tips from Jessica at Chanel, it only takes 5 minutes to be flawlessly fabulous. Scroll to see the beautiful finished product.
