Red Hot Roasters is a family owned and operated coffee shop with two Louisville locations, and they're serving up excitement this holiday season.

Sondra Powell has been managing Red Hot Roasters since 2006 with brother Jason Powell. She was recently featured in the second edition of the e-book Single. Women. Enterpeneurs. by Dr. Erin Albert. The book is $25 and can be found on most major electronic formats, although it can be found for less. It is an opportunity to get inside the business minds of single women who run their own business.

"We don't have anyone we have to answer to, and there are no distractions," said Powell about the growing population of single female entrepeneurs.

Being featured in the e-book is a nice addition to the accolades Powell and Red Hot Roasters have racked up. They've been featured in Marie Claire, Food Network Magazine and on CNN.com. They are known for their bright orange drive-up window, festooned with "kitschy holiday decorations", which bring excitement to the loyal customers that come for coffee and tasty treats.  Their coffee can also be found at local restaurants like De La Torre's, The Mayan Cafe, and Wiltshire on Market.

They have a special treat for a limited time only this holiday season: 10 oz. bags of Elephant Beans for $12. Rare Nicaraguan Maragogype Elephant beans are the world's biggest coffee beans. They have "a full-bodied smooth and fresh flavor and a mouthwatering aroma of honey nuts, and chocolate". They also have another Nicaraguan blend available in light and dark roast for $10 per 10 oz. bag. The light roast is also served in stores.  Red Hot Roasters assures that they buy the beans directly from small farms in Nicaragua, which ensures the most financially beneficial arrangement for the farmers.

If you roll by one of the stores to pick up a bag, you can try a whimsical holiday drink while you're there. Some of the drinks includ Cinnamon Roll Mocha, Snowflake Mocha, White Chocolate Eggnog Mocha, German Chocolate Cake Mocha, Candycane Mocha, made with festive flavorings like hazelnut, coconut, cinnamon, caramel, and peppermint. Price range is $3.75- $5.25.

More information about their wholesale and retail coffee is available at their charming web site.
