This national training event honors Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and the others who were affected by the shooting in Arizona in January. Many of the bystanders knew CPR and assisted the wounded that day. This free event is offered to teach the public how to perform hands-only CPR, to control external bleeding and manage shock in the event of an emergency. Having more trained bystanders with these skills can help save lives in emergency situations.
To take advantage of this free offering from the Red Cross, you only need to pre-register online. This class is usually $25.00 and is sponsored by Safeway and Walgreens. You can also call the Red Cross office at 502-589-4450 for more information.
