When you first hear PGA and KitchenAid are working together for the 72nd Senior PGA Championship at Valhalla, you kind of think “Those two things don’t really go together.” KitchenAid has a full slate of celebrity chef appearances, cooking demonstrations and fun activities scheduled this week to show you just how incorrect that notion actually is.
KitchenAid is one of America’s most well-known brands and golf is one of the world’s most popular sports, so the pairing was inevitable right? The activities found at the KitchenAid Fairway Club are all part of a unique fan experience, combining culinary arts with golf, while featuring headliner celebrity chefs like Duff Goldman (Ace of Cakes) and Mike Symon (Iron Chef). Fans can also step into a golf swing simulator and compete in a “Closest to the Pin” contest with other fans to try and win a standing mixer from KitchenAid.
As part of the sponsorship, KitchenAid is offering a sweepstakes program to fans in which the grand prize is a “dream kitchen” complete with all of the best KitchenAid appliances and accessories. Following Saturday’s third round of play, five first-place sweepstakes winners will receive two tickets to an all-exclusive dinner prepared by the celebrity chef Michael Symon inside the KitchenAid Fairway Club.
Deb O’Connor, the Senior Manager of Brand Experience for KitchenAid is really happy with how well the activities at the Fairway Club have been received this week by fans:
“KitchenAid and the PGA represent the idea of bringing people together to share common experiences. Great golf and great food are a good combination, and through this sponsorship we connect golf and culinary experiences in exciting and engaging ways that golf fans have never before experienced, says O'Connor.”
It is probably safe to say that KitchenAid representatives can’t help but be slightly happy with the iffy weather so far this week, as even more curious fans have wandered inside the Fairway Club to escape the rain and check out the events. Rain or not though, fans should definitely check out the KitchenAid Fairway Club at least once during the week. The KitchenAid representatives are more than willing to show you around and answer any of your questions. There is something fun going on everyday of the tournament and you can check out some really spectacular products while you’re there.
Take a look at photos I took while browsing the KitchenAid Fairway Club the last couple of days.
