Veteran newscaster and correspondent Lesley Stahl will be the guest speaker at the 49th annual They're Off! Luncheon on Friday, April 22. The Derby Festival is also pleased to welcome a NEW sponsor for the luncheon - Norton Healthcare - which will help the Festival kick off two weeks worth of events during the 50th Celebration. Business First and Bluegrass Family Health return as contributing sponsors, joining newcomer Frost Brown Todd LLC.
Stahl will address more than 2,000 Festival supporters and patrons in attendance for this annual corporate "kick-off" event at 11:30 AM in the Grand Ballroom of the Galt House East.
Stahl joins Dick Vitale, Bill Walton, Greg Gumbel, Larry King, Bob Costas, Cawood Ledford, Phil Simms and Howard Cosell in a long list of TV broadcasters who have entertained They're Off! Luncheon audiences for nearly 50 years. Stahl is also only the third female speaker since the tradition of a keynote address was added in 19747.
